Meet Our Team
Lesley C. Loss, M.D. (President/CEO) was born and raised in Rochester NY. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colby College where she was elected into the honors society Phi Beta Kappa. After college she went on to complete medical school at the University at Buffalo where she again graduated with Latin honors.
Following medical school Dr Loss completed a year of internal medicine training at the University of Rochester Medical Center and subsequently finished her dermatology residency at the University at Buffalo where she was elected chief resident. Dr Loss has published numerous articles in peer review journals and has presented at national meetings.
Her special interests include adult and pediatric dermatology, dermatologic surgery, Botox, fillers and laser therapy for a variety of skin conditions. She is also a local expert in CoolSculpting, a novel body contouring procedure. Since joining Dermatology Associates she has also participated in numerous clinical trials.
Dr Loss is a Board-Certified dermatologist and fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She is also a member of the National Psoriasis Foundation, the Society for Pediatric Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
John H. Tu, M.D., M.S. (medical director) is certified by the American Board of Dermatology in general, medical, and surgical dermatology, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Prior to joining Dermatology Associates of Rochester, Dr. Tu was on the faculty at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry at Strong Memorial Hospital. He is currently an attending dermatologist at Rochester General Hospital. In addition to specialty training in dermatology, he holds masters’ degrees in both microbiology/immunology and optics.
Dr. Tu’s medical interests include the use of lasers and other light-based modalities to treat and diagnose skin disorders, medical and surgical methods to treat skin cancer, and diagnosis and management of disorders involving skin of color. He specializes in the use of fillers, BOTOX® and lasers to rejuvenate and enhance appearance of diseased and sun-damaged skin. Dr. Tu also serves as principal investigator in numerous clinical trials involving the skin, hair and nails.
Michael J. Brown, R.P.A. received his degree from Duke University and was the first formally trained physician’s assistant in New York State. He obtained further training in internal medicine, rheumatology, dermatology, and plastic surgery at the Mary Imogene Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY.
Focusing on general and cosmetic dermatology, laser treatments, and surgical procedures (which include complex closures for skin cancer of the face, head and neck region) he has also trained internal medicine and family practice residents throughout his career. Mr. Brown is currently a clinical instructor at Highland Hospital. In addition he has worked as a sub investigator for numerous clinical drug trials in dermatology.
Ann Marie Ebling, M.S., N.P. received her undergraduate nursing degree from D’Youville College and dual masters’ degrees from the University of Rochester in adult and pediatric nursing. As a nurse practitioner, she practices general dermatology with an interest in adult and teen acne.
Ann Marie specializes in cosmetic procedures including BOTOX®, fillers, sclerotherapy for leg veins, and lasers for skin rejuvenation. In addition, she is a sub investigator for multiple dermatology clinical trials and is an active member of the Dermatology Nurses Association. She manages and educates the nursing staff and holds a clinical/faculty appointment with the University of Rochester.
Travis Hayden M.P.A.S., R.P.A. – Completed his undergraduate studies at Le Moyne College with a degree in biology. Upon graduating he was awarded enrollment into the U.S. Navy’s Health Services Collegiate Program. Through the program he received his formal training as a physician assistant at the Sisters of Charity Medical Center of Staten Island, New York.
He then proudly served on active duty as a Medical Service Corps Officer in the United States Navy, working in Military and Family Medicine. During his time in the Navy, he completed his masters degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Nebraska. While stationed at the U.S. Naval Academy he pursued his interest in dermatology through training with the dermatology department of the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.
Mr. Hayden enjoys teaching and is a clinical instructor and preceptor for the students of the Le Moyne College Physician Assistant Program and the SUNY Upstate Medical University.
Mr. Hayden is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a fellow member of the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants (SDPA) where he serves as the Chair of the Publications/Communications Committee. He is also the founding editor-in-chief of the Journal of Dermatology for Physician Assistants, the official journal of the SDPA.
Janice E. Campbell-Loss, M.S., N.P., CCRC- Janice received her AAS nursing degree from Monroe Community College, a BS degree in nursing from the University of Rochester and a BA in Psychology and Biology from St. John Fisher College. She completed her M.S. in Advanced Practice Nursing at the University of Rochester School of Nursing. Janice has worked at Dermatology Associates of Rochester since 1986 as a general dermatology nurse, surgical assistant, laser and leg vein injector and research coordinator. She had been the Associate Director of Skin Search Rochester, Inc., a partner with Dermatology Associates since the inception of Skin Search in 2001. Janice took over her husband’s position of President and Director of Operation after his sudden death in 2008. She is a Certified Clinical Research Coordinator since 2007, and has completed multiple courses relating to research at the University of Rochester Medical Center, ACRP and DIA. Since 2005, she has been an active member of the National Association for Clinical Research Professionals. Janice has coordinated and/or administered over 100 clinical trials..
Malgorzata J. Sass, M.S., N.P. completed her undergraduate work in nursing at St. John Fisher College and received a master’s degree in nursing from the University of Rochester. Malgorzata is dedicated to patient education regarding skin cancer prevention and healthy skin care practices, and has written many educational handouts regarding different dermatology issues for both patients and staff.
As a nurse practitioner, she is focused on general dermatology and cosmetic enhancements that include BOTOX®, fillers, and lasers. In addition, she is a sub investigator for multiple dermatology clinical trials and is an active member of the Dermatology Nurses’ Association.
