Glacial® Rx Skin Rejuvenation

Are you ready to have clearer, brighter skin without heat, pain, or downtime? Glacial Rx is an innovative skin rejuvenation treatment available at our Rochester, NY, practice that uses a proprietary form of cryotherapy called Cryomodulation™ to address sunspots, age spots, redness, and more. Glacial Rx can be used as a spot treatment or on the entire surface of the skin.

What Is the Glacial Rx Treatment?
Instead of using light energy to rejuvenate the skin like Forever Young BBL™, Glacial Rx uses patented controlled cooling called Cryomodulation to freeze the source of unwanted pigment, the melanocytes in the skin. New skin cells are produced without unwanted pigmentation. Much like with CoolSculpting®, Glacial Rx’s cooling process does not harm the skin’s surface or surrounding tissues. The cooling process has additional benefits! It constricts blood vessels to reduce redness and inflammation and increases natural exfoliation (cell turnover).
What Is Glacial Rx Used for?
Glacial Rx helps women and men of all ages and skin types have clearer, brighter skin on most exposed areas such as the face, décolletage, hands, and arms. These treatments address a variety of concerns, including:

- Excess pigment such as age spots, freckles, sunspots
- Melasma (dark patches of skin)
- Rosacea and other redness
- Inflammation
During your private consultation, we will determine if you are a good candidate for Glacial Rx or if another option like a Halo™ Pro or PicoWay® laser treatment might work better.
How Much Do Glacial Rx Treatments Cost in Rochester, NY?
As with other cosmetic dermatology treatments we perform, the cost of a Glacial Rx treatment depends on the nature and extent of the procedure for each patient. We discuss the cost during your consultation at Dermatology Associates of Rochester.
What Are Glacial Rx Treatments Like?
We perform these simple office treatments in under an hour depending on the size and number of the treatment areas. Patients often say Glacial Rx treatments feel relaxing, comfortable, and refreshing; no numbing cream is required.
What Should I Expect During Recovery?
You can return to work and regular daily activities right away as no downtime is needed.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
While most patients attain a significant improvement with just a single treatment, those with more intense discoloration may need 2 or 3 treatments.
How Long Does It Take To See Results From Glacial Rx?
Redness and inflammation are noticeably reduced right away. When brown spots and pigment are treated, the skin gradually looks clearer as treated skin cells are replaced with fresh skin cells. There may be flaking and crusting as the skin’s natural exfoliation process accelerates.
