Nearly all women have some degree of cellulite. Even though fat is involved in the appearance of cellulite, losing weight won’t necessarily minimize the dimpled look on the buttocks and thighs that can be so frustrating. Cellulite occurs when connective bands that thread throughout the fat in our bodies pull down the skin. This “pulling” causes the fat to push up and create the cobblestone appearance.
Cellfina targets these bands with a tiny microblade inserted just below the skin. When the bands are no longer attached, the treated skin “bounces back,” much like when a rubber band breaks. The skin gradually appears smoother.

Meet the TeamThe Cellfina treatment starts when your provider applies a numbing agent to minimize discomfort during the procedure. We perform Cellfina treatments in our office, and there is little to no downtime. The procedure lasts 45 minutes to an hour, depending on the size of the area or areas being treated.
We may recommend combining skin tightening or body contouring treatments, such as Ultherapy® or CoolSculpting®, to help you reach your aesthetic goals.
The results gradually emerge, with some initial improvements seen as early as 3 days after the treatment. The changes continue, though, and the optimal results may be seen after 30 days. In the first day or 2 after the procedure, you may experience some minor bruising, soreness, tenderness, and redness. No special treatment is necessary. The FDA cleared the procedure to produce results lasting up to 3 years, which is the longest for any cellulite procedure.
