Contour TRL™

Skin damaged by years of sun exposure can develop medium and deep wrinkles that can be minimized by the Contour TRL laser peel, an innovative laser skin resurfacing treatment performed at our Rochester, NY, practice. Our board-certified physicians and licensed nurse practitioners tailor treatments for each patient depending on the condition of your skin, the desired results, and how much downtime you can accommodate.

Expertise Makes a Difference

Customized laser skin rejuvenation treatments require the expertise of specialists who perform the procedures with extraordinary precision. We adjust laser peels to treat your skin with the exact amount of energy needed to produce the desired results based on your skin’s condition, your cosmetic goals, and the amount of downtime discussed before the treatment.

How Contour TRL Works

A laser peel removes a layer of skin using the energy produced by the erbium YAG laser platform used for Contour TRL treatments. What makes Contour TRL unique among laser skin resurfacing procedures is the physician’s ability to precisely control the depth of the treatment.

Laser treatments trigger the body’s natural healing process, stimulating the growth of new collagen. Collagen improves the skin’s thickness and resilience. Additionally, the procedure prompts the growth of healthy cells to give skin a rejuvenated, more youthful appearance. Contour TRL can be used to treat:

  • Deep wrinkles (including around the mouth and eyes)
  • Poor skin tone and texture
  • Scars
  • Sun damage
  • Actinic keratoses (pre-cancerous lesions)

Contour TRL is primarily used to treat the face and neck but can improve the skin’s texture on other areas of the body.

How Much Does a Contour TRL Laser Treatment Cost in Rochester, NY?

As you probably know, the cost of most cosmetic treatments varies depending on the individual concerns of each patient. That’s true, also, of laser skin resurfacing. After consulting with one of our physicians, you’ll receive a detailed price quote for your procedure.

Combining Laser Skin Resurfacing With Other Procedures

We can often treat multiple concerns more effectively by combining procedures, either at the same time or as staggered treatments. This approach helps us customize your care and produce optimal results.

For example, we may recommend adding BOTOX® Cosmetic or dermal fillers to your treatment plan to help smooth wrinkles and plump the skin as well as address skin surface irregularities with Contour TRL. Depending on your goals, we may also suggest combining Contour TRL with Forever Young BBL™ to address deeper wrinkles or multiple skin concerns. It’s also a good idea to use high-quality skincare products to maintain your results.

Common Questions

Will I need more than one treatment?

One of the benefits of a Contour TRL laser peel is that your physician can customize the procedure to produce the desired results in a single treatment. That’s true even for patients seeking extensive skin resurfacing. We create a personalized plan for your specific needs that may include multiple treatments or a combination of treatments.

Does the treatment hurt?

The comfort level for each patient varies depending on the depth of the treatment. Patients undergoing shallow treatments typically only need a topical anesthetic to remain comfortable during the procedure. Other patients getting deeper treatments may need an injection of a local anesthetic.

When will I see results?

It takes about a week to see improvement in the skin’s texture and tone and in the appearance of wrinkles. Patients who get deeper laser treatments will continue to see improvement for the ensuing 4 to 6 months as new collagen continues to grow.

How much downtime is needed?

This is something that we’ll discuss with you during the consultation. The recovery time needed will depend on the depth of your treatment, but recovery time is generally 7-10 days.  Some patients may opt for multiple shallow treatments rather than a single, deeper treatment because they want a shorter recovery. Deeper treatments can require weeks of downtime, but that’s something to discuss with your physician.
