Meet Dr. Jennifer Battaglia

Jennifer Battaglia, MD, MS, is an allergy and immunology specialist who brings a thoughtful, evidence-based approach to caring for patients and families at Dermatology Associates of Rochester. With extensive medical training completed in Rochester, Dr. Battaglia is committed to providing comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s individual needs, concerns, and goals.
Dr. Battaglia began her academic journey at Wake Forest University, where she earned a degree in chemistry with a concentration in biochemistry. Her interest in both the sciences and humanities led her to the University of Rochester, where she earned a master’s degree in medical humanities and bioethics.
She continued at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry, earning her medical degree before completing her pediatrics residency at the University of Rochester Medical Center. Dr. Battaglia then pursued advanced fellowship training in allergy and immunology at the University of Rochester. Her training in pediatrics and allergy/immunology provides a strong foundation for understanding complex allergic and immune-mediated conditions and their impact on patients and their families.
In her clinical practice, Dr. Battaglia emphasizes comprehensive, evidence-based, patient- and family-centered care. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, she works with patients to develop treatment recommendations that reflect their individual needs and goals.
Her professional interests are also reflected in her research. Dr. Battaglia has contributed to published research examining the relationship between atopic dermatitis and IgE-mediated food allergy, including emerging biologic therapies that may target mechanisms shared by these conditions. She has also participated in research examining different patterns of food allergy presentation in infancy.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Battaglia enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her golden retriever. She also loves food and cooking, an interest that pairs particularly well with her enthusiasm for helping patients and families navigate food allergies.
